THE APPLICATION OF PULSATING MAGNETIC FIELDS IN MEDICINE

There has been Hundreds of medical and scientific studies over the years on the elec device, all of them independent.

The following is just a small example of some of those studies.

These are taken from a book by U. Wernke (Ph.D.) on a summary of the
261 Most important International Publications on Pulsating Magnetic Fields.

The subjects covered in the studies are from the following.

Cardiology Cytology Dermatology
Embryology Endocrinology Fundamentals
Gastroenterology Gynecology Histology
Immunology Neurology Oncology
Ophthalmology Orthopedics Otorhinolaringology
Pathophysiology (Metabolic Physiology )  Psychosomatic Medicine Radiology  Stomatology
   Urology

There are hundreds more examples of research that has been carried out across the world. I have tried to give you a very small insight into just a few of these studies.

Often people at first can not understand how PMF can be used to treat any part of the body and any condition.

What is most important to understand is that our bodies are made up of tiny little things called Cells, These Cells can only be seen under a microscope but each one is a living organism just like us. Each cell does the same as we do they take in food, water,& oxygen, & give off waste, they also move, give of heat, communicate, & reproduce.

When for whatever reason a group of cells become disturbed then we have the early stages of a disease process.

These Cells, in every part of the body can be influenced Bioenergetically by a PMF unit this means that their health & energy output can be improved over time, This in turn has an healing effect on the whole body helping to slow down the aging processes.

Evaluation of treatment of 1712 patients.

Evaluation of 1712 reports on therapeutic results obtained by 92 physicians of various specializations. The evaluation has been conducted by the University of Saarland, Saarbrucken, W. Germany, May 1984.
Reports of patient observations during the treatment with Pulsating Magnetic Field devices elecsystem.

Summary
The findings and experiences with the elecsystem Pulsating Magnetic Field Therapy statistically was evaluated by standard questionnaires of 1712 patient treatments. The partially objective, but for the greatest part subjective judgements of the physicians carrying out the treatment, as well as the judgement of the patients, regarding the effectiveness of the Pulsating Magnetic Field Therapy were divided in different groups.
Between the judgements of physicians and patients there have been noted subtle differences. The judgements of the patients were more positive.

The influence of PMF Therapy on the following general pathological categories was rated by doctors predominantly as:

"very good" / "good" /"satisfactory" / "poor"
general statement about PMF Therapy (elec system)
regressive disorders
fractures and trauma
inflammations

During the last years PMF-Therapy has become an integral treatment in human medicine. For a long period of time there has been scepticism toward the surprisingly broad field of therapy indications which initially was based on empirical data. However, in the meantime the physiological mechanisms of action of Pulsating Magnetic Fields has been explored determining therapeutic signals.
PMF increases vasodilation in the organism.
PMF increases the oxygen partial pressure in tissue
PMF increases polarization of cell membranes, thus improving the energy metabolism in the entire organism.

These three characteristics are of greatest importance in the therapeutic efficacy of different types of ailments.
Thus explaining scientifically – experientially the wide range of indications.

The physiological mechanism of PMF is not restricted to human beings. It is also applicable in animals. Numerous results testing the effectiveness of PMF have been obtained worldwide by research centers exclusively with animals. In order to obtain a control-study of the successes achieved with PMF, the following evaluation of physician's experiences has been made.
There have been evaluated the treatments with PMF of 1712 patients. The duration of treatment was between 6 and 36 days. The doctors conducting the treatment as well as the patients rated their evaluation of the PMF therapy results as:
*very good
*good
*satisfactory
*poor

The evaluation of the doctors was based on their own laboratory tests, measurements physiological and pathological parameters as well as subjective criteria. Names and addresses of the doctors in charge are recorded on each questionnaire.

2.1 PMF Therapy indications:

In order to obtain a better survey, the patient's diseases have been divided into the following general pathological categories: inflammations – regressive disorders – circulatory disorders – fractures and trauma.
The following diseases/healing processes were exposed to the Pulsating Magnetic Field:

Inflammations:
Hepatitis, cystitis, coxitis, gastritis, sinusitis, fistulae, abscesses, urogenital infection, dermatitis, acute and chronic otitis, bronchitis, arthritis, chronic tendonitis, osteomyelitis, pododermatitis, bursitis, suppurative wounds, gastroenteritis, rheumatoid arthritis, torticollis, prostatitis, angina, nephritis, suturitis, infection with hip paralysis, inflammation of the scalp.

Regressive disorders:
Cervical disc syndrome, spondylosis, transversal myelosis, coxarthrosis, paralysis, ataxia, polyuria, polydipsia, osteochondrosis, aspergillus’s, semi paresis, ulcus cruris, sacral sciatic syndrome, paraplegia, neural paralysis, knee joint diseases, arthritis, degenerative disc disease, digestive disorders, dermatitis, myopathies, necrosis, sciatica, constipation, general weakness, gonarthosis, periostitis, dyspnoea, osteoporosis, Morbus Scheuermann, lumbago, scoliosis.

Circulatory disorders:
Apoplexy, insult, dyspnoea, insufficiency, circulatory disorders, chronic renal damage.

Fractures and trauma
Swelling, bone fractures, luxations, ligament tears, brain concussion, sprains, bruises and ruptures.
The positive results obtained by physicians with PMF Therapy are almost completely congruent with those reported in veterinary medicine.
Inflammations, regressive disorders (degenerative disorders) and especially fractures and traumas have meanwhile become "the classic indications" of PMF Therapy in human medicine. The same applies to veterinary medicine.
The "very good" and "good" results are between 60 an 83%. It is also recommended that more objective material should be collected for the evaluated categories. No side effects have been observed.

Sports Medicine

H. Hess, J. Rothaar, St Elisabeth Hospital, Saarlouis West Germany: "Experiances with pulsating Magnetic Field Therapy on Insertion Tendiopathies".

The authors report of a case-study of arbitrarily choosen 32 patients, multiple sportsmen with epicondylalgia and 13 with tendiopathiesof the ligament patellae. Compared to usual physical and electro-theraputic methods, the treatment results with PMF have been the same, in less severe cases they have even been supierior.

All cases without improvement have been patients experiencing problems for over one year and cortisone treatment. These patients needed surgery.

Ulcer Treament

A. vannini, E .Riva Sanseverino , G.Domenicucci, L. Buscaroli, Hospital M. Malphighi di Montecatone, Imola (Bologna), Italy: "Application of Pulsating Magnetic Fields on patients with Vertebral Medullary Traumata: Therapeutic Effect on Neurogeneous Ulcers".

The authors report on PMF treatment of 16 ulcers of patients affected by heurogeneous lesions (with coil and scatterfield applicator: 12-25 Hz, 60-80 G, 30 Min. daily, 30 sessions).
Conclusion: Combined with traditional therapies the healing process is six times faster; reparations also occur in lower parts of the tissue, resulting in the prevention of fistualae; the healing process of an ulcer is directly dependant on the magnetic energy applied with frequencies or 12-25 Hz. Apparantly not only the intensity seems to be the determined parameter but the entire energy applied into the tissue.

General Medicine

F.Besozzi: "Application of the Pulsating Magnetic Field Therapy in Mediacal Practice".
The author reports on the results of his experiance acquainted during 2 years with MF-therapy. Summarizing, the PMF-therapy is described as stimulation of the hemodynamics with positive consequences for the normalisation of the skin temperature, pain releif and improvement of the general condition of the patient.
Areas of treatment:

a) Rheumatic diseases (arthropathies, arthritis)
b) Dental Medicine (periodonititis)
c) Ear nose and throat area (Sinusitis)
d) Other Areas (Lesions after Chemotherapy, Post-operative keloids, fistulous residues and suppurative surgical stitches, burns, odema and post-traumatic hematomas, peripheral arteriopathies, renal gravel and urinary tract infections, renal calculus).

Orthopedy

N.Halimovici, Bremen, W. Germany;
"Four years of experiance with low frequency pulsed magnetic field therapy in Orthopedic and Traumatology"
The author reports of a large number of cases (2038 with injuries and diseases of the lowcomotory system treated with low frequency Pulsated magnetic Fields.

In a detailed long term study of 32 patients with metatarsus primus varus on both sides, bone healing and callus formation were evaluated and compared. The results are summarised my means of tables, the acceleration of the periostosis can be considered proven (in 32% of the cases distinct acceleration, in 60% of the cases a moderate acceleration).
Under the aspect of microscopic and macroscopic tests no hypotrophic callus could be determined. There are indications of an increases qualitative infuence of callus formation while the quantitative influence shows less increment.

Other Tests:
1. Osteoporosis 75% good results in 495 cases~
2. M. Sudeck (80% Prevention of the loss of function of 102 patients)
3. Arthrosis Possibly good results through long term therapy in 650 patients
4. Circulatory Disorders 58% Good results in 172 patients
5. Ulcers Cruris 65% Good results in 81 Patients
6. Postoperative Keloids Sweeling clearly decreased in all 261 Patients

Summarising: The advandtages of this therapy method are:

1. Possibility of direct influence of the bone metabolism with accelerated callus formation.
2. Overall Influence of the tissue through improvement of the Oxygen supply and possible influence of the permeability of the cell membrane.

3. No Heat Produced (of great importance with metalic implants), Preventing heat damage of the joint.
4. If applied correctly and conrtaindications have been observed this treatment method does not encounter any hazard or negative reactions.

5.Inexpensive treatment method, no additional personnel required.
6. Complete treatment control of intensity duration and frequency settings.

The pusating Magnetic Field Therapy has become an integrated treatment method in orthopedy and traumatology.
